Travis Devine is a local boy who grew up in a baseball family. His father, Adrian Devine, played professional baseball for 11 1/2 years with the Atlanta Braves and the Texas Rangers.
Travis went on to enjoy a stellar high school career at Dacula High School as a starter on the varsity team for all four years. Travis was elected to the All-County Team for three years, was Player of the Week once, and made Team of the Month twice. Travis was heavily recruited by Division I colleges and Pro Scouts. He ended up signing with Georgia Tech.
In his Senior year, Baseball America ranked Travis as one of the top three high school pitchers in America for overall command of pitches. After being drafted as the San Diego Padres' first pitcher in the fourth round of the 1998 draft, Travis decided to go the pro route. His professional career was hampered by injuries and Travis decided to pursue a degree in computer technology after being released by the Padres. In his final season with the Ft.
